Remember my earlier post on Rescue Beauty Lounge nail polish swatches? And also the spree that I opened? Well, this is going to be an entry on raves raves and more raves.
Rave #1:
The sale was so well conducted, it's nothing like the Sleek Makeup fiasco (another entry, when I'm free). I almost had a heart attack waiting for the sale to happen. You see, Ji has already announced that she was running low on Orbit Non Sufficit (ONS) and Bikini Bottom, but, in my order list, I had to grab 1 of ONS and 2 of Bikini Bottom.
With all the tabs of the various colours ready, I was waiting for my test polishes to be dumped from the shopping cart. That happened at 10.58pm (local time). From then on, I just kept trying the code. Once the code was activated, whoosh, within a couple of seconds, I had all the polishes I needed to order in my shopping cart! By 11.09pm (or 11.09am, NY time), the order was completed and paid for. No technical glitches, super easy to shop, really.
That was 1st Nov our time. By 2nd Nov our time, I received the shipping notification. By 9 Nov, the polishes were here! All 24 polishes safely arrived.
So, rave #1 = Super efficient handling of the sale + quick shipping + secure bubblewrap + awesome service by RBL & Ji!
Honestly, I haven't met a company that has such good CS as RBL, not even LUSH (and I thought they were not bad, hahah).
Rave #2: The polishes
True to all the reviews out there, RBL polishes are a-mazing! The formula is top-notch, and the polishes are thin and super easy to work with. They dry pretty quickly, and don't need any top coat for that extra shine. I used Seche Vite with my first manicure, and promptly destroyed the manicure because the top coat really didn't work well with RBL polishes. Only 2 coats were needed, and probably one if you had nicer nails than I do right now.
No swatches for the 3 colours I bought (Scrangie, 360 and Recycle), because my nails are still too short to be shown. All the 3 colours are awesome, although Recycle doesn't look all that fantastic against my skintone. But I really regret not purchasing more colours, if only because the formula makes RBL polishes really worth all the hype and moolah! Each bottle works out to about $14.10 after international shipping, just slightly more expensive than Zoya, but still too expensive for me to buy up the entire lot (like what Christine of Temptalia did, haiz).
So, Rave #2 = Superb formula
Rave #3: Scrangie
Rave #3 is really the reason why I'm typing this quick entry before going back to studying. And, no suprise, Rave #3 is about Scrangie. Not the nail polish blogger, but the polish that she created with RBL.
I thought it was gorgeous from the picture. I knew I had to get it, and I realised everyone felt the same way too, because this is already Batch 2.0 (Ji brought it back after appeals from the nail polish community!).
But no, I was wrong. Utterly wrong. It is gorgeous beyond belief, and I doubt I would ever ever ever see any polish as unique and as lovely as Scrangie. First, the picture is just off. But it's not Scrangie's fault. It's the camera's inability to capture the brilliance of Scrangie, because I've just tried with a Canon Ixus, and the picture is just like that picture you see up that.
Imagine the actual colour to be: Less blue base, more pink/purple base. The purple is rich and gorgeous on its own. Then, the gorgeousness starts (LOL), coz, under certain lighting, the green microshimmers blows you away with its beauty. It's green microshimmers with some reds and whatever else. If you tilt the bottle, you can actually only see the green against a slight purple base. Almost duo-chrome, but I guess it's not. It's just utterly utterly gorgeous! Like what some have said, it's like some sort of fairy dust on top of everything, making it memerizing. And trust me, I have been staring at my nails since I painted it. It's kinda distracting since I'm trying to study for my final exams. It's just a gorgeous colour, you really have to see it in real life to appreciate the beauty.
Rave #3: RBL Scrangie is the most gorgeous polish I have ever seen (swatches or otherwise), and I totally regret not getting backups of this shade already, because I have a feeling I am so going to be wearing this polish for a full month.
I will update this entry sometime soon with swatches of the colours I bought, as well as reviews on wear-time and all. But for now, start regretting you didn't purchase Scrangie, because it's absolutely stunning!!!!
