Review: Kent Maxi Detangling 'Phat Pin' Hairbrush
Wello!
I purchased this particular hairbrush off Feel Unique just before the New Year, and received it really quickly!
Some background story... I first heard about Kent Hairbrushes after IcyAbstract featured it 3 years ago. Back then, I was a student, and felt it was ridiculous paying $30 for a hairbrush. Fast forward 3 years later, my hair got longer, and more tangly because it's really dry. I decided then and there that it's worth paying that $30, when I realised that Feel Unique was carrying it at only ~S$15 including shipping! Good deal! <3
The large cone pins are supposed to emulate fingers, sliding through tangled hair without abrasive tugging, while the air-cushioned head massages the scalp.
In addition, most reviews online recommended using when the hair is wet, which horrified me initially. I mean, isn't your hair the most brittle when it's wet? Nonetheless, I took the plunge. After showers, I would put on a detangling lotion (Aussie), then proceed to comb my hair with this brush. I've been using it everyday, and oh my, I do like it quite a bit! It does keep my hair fairly untangled the next day, and my hair looks a little healthier since then.
For $15, I think this is a hairbrush worth trying. I'm not too sure I like using it when my hair is wet and brittle, but so far, my hair has stayed untangled, and for that alone, I would continue using it.
PS: If you're not into online shopping, Watsons carry Kent Hair Brushes. This particular model costs S$29.90/S$32.90.
