Blog Spotted! v1.3

This is the third entry in a new series, "Blog Spotted!". To find out more information about "Blog Spotted!", please view my introductory entry.

The third website that I'm introducing is Shabby Princess.

Are you new to bookscrapping? Or, are you deterred by the high cost of book scrapping? If so, look no further than Shabby Princess! It's a wonderful resource for digital bookscrapping, and I might like to point out, it's free. And it is nowhere as shabby as it sounds.

Digital book-scrapping does not differ much from the traditional art-craft, except that everything is created digitially. You can however choose to store it digitally (as your laptop's wallpaper, for instance), or physically (if you print out the designs onto acid-free paper). What I do prefer about digital scrapbooking is that it's way cheaper than the traditional method, and allows for easy correction of mistakes. What's more, you get to experiment with layering, colouring, vibrancy etc, and all to your heart's content.

Shabby Princess currently offers 25 sets bookscrapping kits for free. While it doesn't seem like much, the respective papers, embellishments etc found in the kits can be reused creatively to suit other themes, much like traditional bookscrapping. Each kit comes with papers, patterns, alphabet, numbers, embellishments, accents etc. Each set comes with papers in high resolution (300dpi), making them all suitable for printing onto acid-free paper if you choose to.

One of my favourite kit will be their "Urban Kiwi" set. And no surprises there, because the main colour theme for the set is Black and Green.

Shabby Princess also has a blog where additional free content + gorgeous previews of their shop items. Yes, I'm aware they do sell their works online as well as offering free content, but I see no problems with sharing such resources with everyone, if only as a way to decorate their pictures and wallpapers. I don't normally like to introduce sites that profit directly from their sites, but if it's free, it's a good site to feature.

In all, Shabby Princess is by far my favourite digital scrapbooking resource online. There are so many other sites, but Shabby Princess has remained the best until now, even though they rarely update that site now.

Do share however, if you've got other good sites to recommend!
