Jewels on a nail... BUT
2 coats of OPI Russian Navy, 1 coat of OPI I Juggle ... Men, 1 coat of Seche Vite
~~~ ~~~ ~~~
I originally wanted to redo this draft, because I assumed it was an
error on my part that resulted in problems with my swatches. However,
after reading Makeupalley, I realised that the problems I had with OPI I Juggle... Men extended to so many users.Pros:
- Absolutely stunning sparkles. Layered over OPI Russian Navy, I swear I had precious stones on my nails.
Cons:
- Cloudy base which unfortunately creates a chalky layer over the polish, if left alone (aka no additional top coat)
- If an additional top coat is layered on immediately, the chalkiness is not as obvious. However, that means way too many coats of polishes than I like on my nails
- When you layer a fast drying top coat (Seche Vite) immediately onto the wet layer of I Juggle... Men, you get ripples, as in the pictures. Reviews on MUA indicate that the polish will chip and drop off in chunks. Makes you wonder if this is the result of incompatible chemicals?
Verdict:
I like it. I love the way the top coat jazz
up gorgeous base colors, especially the dark shimmery ones. I love the
overall stunning effect on the nails. But I hate the way I have to layer
1 coat of base coat, 2 coats of the nail polish color, 1 coat of I
Juggle... Men, and another 1 coat of top coat. 5 coats on any nails is
madness, to me.
I'm on the fence for this. It's the first
time I've tried layering it, and I like it, but I'm not sure if I like
it enough to keep it for long.
Leave a comment if you know how I
can resolve the problems with I Juggle... Men! Should I wait for it to
dry completely first, keep it tacky and wet and quickly later another
top coat? Does Seche Vite work badly with it, compared to other top
coats? Help me!
