Share: Sigma's (cheaper) dupe for Clarisonic?
I'm sure everyone has heard of Clarisonic, and if you haven't, well, you need to join us on the Onsugar community!
Clarisonic has released a series of electronic cleansing devices, meant to remove your makeup and cleanse your face more effectively than other methods. Quoting Clarisonic,
"Used and recommended by spas and dermatologists, Clarisonic Sonic Skin Cleansing Systems use a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to gently, yet thoroughly remove 6X more makeup and 2X more dirt and oil than cleansing with your hands alone. Cleaner skin is the first step toward healthier skin. And healthier skin is smoother, more radiant and more beautiful."
Essentially, Clarisonic works pretty much as an exfoliator, and although instructions state to use it twice a day, I think that's pretty harsh on your skin.
Clarisonic has been on my consider-buying-if-I'm-willing-to-spare-the-cash list, because it seems to promise really good skin in the long run! I'm not big on either cosmetic or skincare, and found my skin to be much better when I leave it alone (yes, I go without moisturizer/serums/whatnots almost everyday and night). But, Clarisonic sounds cool, and seemed to have worked for so many people, I really want to get it.
So what put me off purchasing a Clarisonic? Well, the price. It costs a whooping USD195.00 for the Classic set, and USD149.00 for the Mia. Don't even ask about the Singapore retail price, because it's marked up way beyond the US retail price. USD149.00 (about $187.80) is not a small price tag, and needs lots of thinking (and justification) to do.

So, I got super excited when I read about the Sigma's Cleansing and Polishing Tool! It looks like the Clarisonic, and the instructions sound like the Clarisonic. Sure, the technology could be different, since Clarisonic would have patented their own technology. But at only USD 39.00, this sounds like a possible 'investment' to make! Sigma's dupe is only 26% the price of a Clarisonic Mia! Omgz, I'm getting excited doing the maths now!
The Sigma's Cleansing and Polishing Tool comes with 3 different types of brush sets, meant to be suitable for different skin types. What I like about their instructions is that they at least recommend moderation, which is really important. You don't want to over-exfoliate your skin! The 2 different speeds sound really great too! The Sigma's device works on 2 AA batteries, unlike the Clarisonic which has to be charged. I'm unsure how long normal batteries can last for the Sigma, but otherwise, using batteries make the Sigma's device more portable, and easier to carry around for travelling! You can check out their website, or watch the youtube video for more infomation!

I haven't tried either, but I'm more curious about the Sigma's device, since it's way cheaper!
Do let me know in the comments if you have tried either, especially the Sigma's device! I'm tempted to open a spree to order them right NOW
~~~
Edit: Okay, so the product was released only a couple of days back, so no hope anyone has tried. BUT, good news is.... I found a 10% discount code! Anyone wants a spree for them now?? :p
