Haul: Eyeko nail polishes!
I realised I like to organize my hauls into specific
brands/categories. So, for this entry, it's about the 6 Eyeko nail
polishes I purchased earlier in August!
Lynn of Hitting the Pan
blogged about Eyeko discontinuing their nail polish range as part of
their rebranding efforts back in end July. I was suitably horrified at
the news, as I've been hoping to purchase some Eyeko polishes (lovely
swatches on Scrangie totally didn't help with the temptation).
But what I was really pleased about was, Eyeko lowered the prices to USD6 a bottle, with a 3 for 2 promotion! That works out to just 4USD a bottle. With free international shipping with purchases above 55USD, I organized a quick spree, and ordered the items in the 1st week of August. And I am suprirsed that Royal Mail actually delivered the items just slightly after 1 week, slightly faster than normal =)
I haven't done full manicures with any of the polishes just yet (I got distracted by Rubi Shoes' Taupe), so I might update in another entry the wear time, texture, quality of the Eyeko polishes etc, but that's much later. For now, some quick swatches of the polishes!
And finally, this is Cosmic. The glitter particles look really flat in the photos, but in real life, and at close proximity, they flash green, orange, red, blue, yellow etc. This is 2 coats,, with a coat of Poshe top coat.
I am wearing Cosmic on my nails now, so I'll try and capture better pictures, and see if I'll change my mind about Eyeko polishes!
Meanwhile, have a great weekend!

This is Lilac, which is well, a lilac, and a really pretty one to boot.
It was opaque in 1 medium-ish coat. Can't remember if I had top-coat on
this.
This is Nude, which is more of a peachy nude on me. This was the
sheerest, and the one that gave the most problems. This is 3 coats + 1
layer of quick-drying top-coat. Scratches and sheet marks appeared the
next morning. There's also very fine silver shimmer, which I dislike in
nudes.
This is Posh. I know it looks horrible here, but this, together with
Lilac, had the best formula. It was completely opaque in 1 coat, and is a
nice milky chocolate colour. A layer of Poshe too.
This is Vampira, 2 coats. Vampira was a little strange, coz it dried to a
satin finish. Totally needs a good high-shine top coat!

There's no swatches for Rain, because I intended for it to be a full
manicure, but as I've said, I got distracted by Rubi Shoes Taupe. Hmm,
first impressions wise, I have to say, I was a little disappointed by
these polishes. I was expecting really good formula (I think it's okay,
don't really like the brush that much), or really awesome colours
(especially Vampira and Cosmic), but somehow, I feel really let-down by
the initial swatches.I am wearing Cosmic on my nails now, so I'll try and capture better pictures, and see if I'll change my mind about Eyeko polishes!
Meanwhile, have a great weekend!
