Swatch Series: Rubi Shoes Taupe Nail Polish

I haven't had the time to edit so many of my draft entries, because school has started, and I'm already dying, nevermind that this is only the 2nd week of school. ><

~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
This is probably going to be the last Rubi Shoes' Nail Polish that I am picking up, after the previous 2 polishes. The final color I chose was Taupe, which is supposedly a dupe for OPI I Don't Know Jacques.
Before I move onto the color, I must say, I love the formula for this color! Rubi Shoes' nail polishes have inconsistent formula across their color range, from sheer, to decent, to gorgeousness. Taupe is, as you might have guessed, belongs to the 'gorgeous' category, because the polish flowed so smoothly on the nails, it's amazing.
The texture of the polish is so lovely, it was creamy in 1-2 coats (I did 1 for both thumbs, and 2 for the rest), but I presonally prefer 2 coats. It's a basic taupe-y creme finish, but yet, it doesn't dry glossy. It dries to a satin finish, which is pretty unusual, but a coat of Poshe (or any other top coat) will give it that gloss and shine it deserves.
The color itself is difficult for me to describe. At first glance, it looks like a very dark brown, with a strong grey undertone. Under different lighting, the color appears more dark grey. And under brighter sunlight, the color is a milk chocolate color. All very pretty.
The photos were taken on the 4th day, so you can see that tiny little bit of tip wear. Honestly, it wasn't so obvious in real life, and considering that I didn't put any base coat, and with a top coat that can potentially shrink the tips, this amount of tipwear is nothing,
Based on swatches online, I would hazard a guess that Rubi Shoes' Taupe is less brown than OPI I Don't Know Jacques, and much darker. It looks as if there's quite a bit more grey than IDKJ as well, but I'll have to find a way to swatch them side by side in order to tell if there's a signficant differences. But I do remember that I hated the way IDKJ looked on me (just weird color on me), but I'm absolutely in love with this $2 polish. What a gem, seriously, if you like taupes, and cannot get enough of good quality taupe polishes!
Seeing that it's only $2, I say, GO GRAB A BOTTLE! It doesn't stink as badly as the previous 2 polishes, and the formula is superb. With that price point and quality, it's definitely a must-have, especially if you don't already own a nice taupe-y color. It's no longer available at ION and City Link Mall (the last time I was at those places anyway), and I picked up this bottle at IMM's Cotton On. In fact, I think I'm getting a backup of this color because I really really like it a lot!
