Essence Time For Romance, SF Topcoat, and Nubar Matte
I've been wanting to haul Essence nail polishes for the longest time, and finally, they're here in Singapore! From what I've heard, Essence can only be found at Ngee Ann City Watsons at the moment.
Essence is a brand from Europe (Germany I believe). Their nail polishes have taken the nail polish world by storm, mostly because of their budget-friendly price tag. Even in Singapore, where cosmetic products are usually marked up, Essence nail polishes cost $2.80 for a 5ml bottle.
The colour I bought was Essence's Time for Romance. I wanted to pick up Blue Addicted as well, but it's already out of stock, boo. In any case, Time for Romance is one of the rare pink glitters that caught my eye, and boy, I'm so glad I did buy it, because it's gorgeous!
Time for Romance is a blackened pink-purple base, with multi-colored min glitter, and bigger pink hexagonal glitter. I would say it's dense enough that 2 coats is sufficient. Despite its density, it's not gritty even without a topcoat, which is a bonus for me (since I dislike topcoats in general, lol).
Well, before I took a proper shot of the nails, I slapped on a coat of Nubar V for Men Matte Topcoat, and I honestly like the effect even more!
Then, for photo-taking purposes, I slapped on 2 more topcoats.
Index and Ring Finger: SF Top Coat
Middle and Pinky: OPI Top Coat
The SF Top Coat is essentially Spectra Flair Pigment in a Beadstreet Top Coat. SF is meant to be a holographic glitter pigment. I'm not sure if I put sufficient pigment, because the holographic glitter is not showing up. :( But yet, I can see the holographic base...
Whoosh, that's the end to the picture spam. So, which one do you prefer? Matte, or with a topcoat?
