National Day 2012 NOTD

Hey everyone!

This is kinda belated, as usual, but I thought I'll share a photo of my National Day 2012 NOTD.

For our foreign friends, Singapore's National Day (or Independence Day) is on 9th August. Since Singapore's national colors are pretty much red and white, I thought I'll stick to these 2 colors.

The idea for the manicure came from A Hoarder's Blog! I fell in love with the design when I first saw it, and so badly wanted to recreate it immediately. Also, this would makes my new striping tapes more useful than stoning in my drawers =)

Ignoring the chip on my fourth finger (pardon me, I was peeling it unconsciously at work), I like it a lot! It was so easy to do; the most difficult aspect was cleaning up the cuticles nd the surrounding areas.

So, what do you guys think of this tape manicure? Let me know your suggestions on how else to use striping tapes!

PS: I know not many would notice, but my terribly short and ugly nails are the reason why swatch posts have dried up. I kinda found the reason for my peeling nails, but that's really for another post, because I have a review for a product that's helping my nails to grow back again! And oh, my cuticles are uber dry, I know. I blame the constant air-con in my office (and of course, not my lack of effort in putting hand cream!)
