Mental Health Awareness Day

I'm sure all of you know that October marks Breast Cancer Awareness month. However, 10th October also marks Mental Health Awareness Day. The theme for this year is Depression: A Global Crisis. In case you're confused by all the other blogs, in the States, it's generally known as Depression Awareness Month, although I much prefer Mental Health Awareness Day since the social stigma goes beyond just depression. 

I'm no expert on Mental Health, but yes, it is one of those issues that I think Singapore as a whole rarely focuses on. From the WHO website,

"Depression affects more than 350 million people of all ages, in all communities, and is a significant contributor to the global burden of disease. Although there are known effective treatments for depression, access to treatment is a problem in most countries and in some countries fewer than 10% of those who need it receive such treatment."

Specifically and in relation to this blog, Green is the symbolic colour for Depression Awareness Month. Thus, throughout the whole of October, I'll be alternativing between Greens and Pinks polishes/cosmetics for swatches and post :)

Today's polish is a rather special one, because it was released as part of a special collection on Going Green. Presenting to you today's star... China Glaze Tree Hugger!

Tree Hugger is a lovely apply green with green (or isit silver?) shimmers. It's one of the first CG polishes I own, and one of my favourites (actually, I haven't really disliked any green polishes, have I?)

It was released as a Spring polish, and yes, it is definitely very spring-y. It's definitely one of those polishes that make you happy just looking at it.
