Review: Vichy's Normaderm Night Anti-Imperfection Rejuvenating Care

Ah, finally a review! And of course it has to be a product with such a long name :)

What it is:

Marketed in the States as Normaderm Night Chrono-Action Anti-Imperfection Care, it is meant to help minimize and tighten pores, as well as refine your skin texture.

Ingredients:

For those who prefer not to have alcohol in their products, do take note that Vichy's Anti-Imperfection Care does contain Alcohol Denat, and probably a fairly proportion of it.

Pros:
This product is amazing. I've been using it for almost 2 months (unfortunately, not very very consistently - lapsed a couple of times). In the first month, I used it daily every night, right after my showers, on a clean face. From the 2nd month onwards, I used it every 2-3 days.

First off, the product spreads easily. As a result, very little product is needed each time round. The product itself is housed in a sanitary tube with a tiny nozzle. Which is great, since so little product is needed each time round.

Like the tube colour, the product itself is green. It does have a scent to it (and perfume is part of the ingredient list), so beware if you're sensitive to perfume in your skincare. Just to mention, I do like the scent a lot, although as usual, my nose fails to identify what it smells like.

I tend to dot the product on various parts of my face, then rub it in. The product itself gets absorbed easily into the skin, and doesn't leave a greasy or oily feeling.

As I've said, this product is amazing. I actually saw results a week after, because my skin has cleared up quite a bit. Older marks went away, and generally, even with the usual PMS acne, I think this product has helped to control the monthly outbreak. The skin looks smoother, and a lot clearer!

Cons:
If I have to point out something I don't like about the product, it's that I'm not sure that it's helping to tighten pores. I can't be certain though, because blackheads have been the bane of my life all these while. It could be that I'm simply not keeping up with removing those pesky white and blackheads each month.

The second 'con' is the price tag. Even though very little product is needed, one tiny tube of 30ml can only last you about 2 months. In Singapore, the retail price is $29.90, so it's not exactly the cheapest product out there. That said, and if you have the opportunity to drop by Johor's premium outlet stores, do remember to grab a tube, because it is only RM30over there, or about S$12! An amazing discount, so I'll wait til I'm there to repurchase the product.

Finally,  a word of caution is that the product itself is not super moisturising. You do need another light moisturiser after this.

Summary
In summary, I like the product, and will repurchase it from Malaysia. It mostly works as advertised, isn't too expensive, and readily available. While skincare products are always subjective in that not all products work for different people, I think this product is definitely worth a try!
